August 16th Two Lake Ride

Yesterday we celebrated my dad's birthday with a big bash in the backyard, so of course we had a few Red Knights family come to celebrate and stayed over.  So this morning we decided to go for a ride.  We weren't really sure where we were going to go.  After heading to Schuylerville to pick up Donna and Ryan for a ride to no where.  We chatted for a bit and finally decided to go lake Sacandoga.

We rode for awhile and found a state picnic area to stretch our legs.  We lucked out and the Ding-a-Ling man was stopping by, so we grabbed some ice cream.
From there we started our journey toward home, but home was not our next destination.  We stopped Stewart's for coffee/water and discussed where we should stop for some grub and decided on the Charlton Tavern. The food was delicious I had their clam chowder and garden salad with chicken.
My favorite thing is that there were Irish blessings on the rafters my favorite was:
"May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea by the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you and all your heart might desire."

After the Tavern we head to ice cream at the Farmer's Daughter but first we took a ride around Saratoga lake.  Which was beautiful as always.
Our final stop was the Farmers Daughter for ice cream.  It's got some delicious ice cream and food to be honest.  Dan decided to ride the horse ride while we were there lol.

It was amazing day and I feel so blessed to be able to get on the back of the bike with Todd and shut my brain off and enjoy how beautiful the world is around me.

August Monthly meeting/ride

Today was our monthly meeting out in East Jewett, NY at the East Jewett fire department.  Members in attendance: President Bob, Secretary Sue, Donna, Derek, junior Member Jamison, myself, Audery and newly voted on members Janet, Timmy and Tommy.
We met Donna and Derek at Stewart's to begin our day.  Jamison enjoyed some white powder mini doughnut and hungout on Big John's rock. We traveled about an hour and 57 minutes south of Clifton Park. It was a beautiful ride of winding roads even in the cage (aka the van).  We had a brief meeting at the East Jewett firehouse and then rode to Selena's Diner in Tannerville, NY.  A few of us had the Reuben and it was delicious!  Then we took off from there and rode Lick's I Scream in Coxsackie, NY. Where I had the Grasshopper Sundae which was very good.  We saw some beautiful sites, rode on some lovely roads and ended up...
Back at Stewart's for some coffee and chit chat.  Overall I have no complaints aside from my other half not being able to attend and not being on the back of the bike.

Upcoming events/rides:
September 6th: West Virginia's Picnic
October 11: The Red Knight NY chapter 12's Toy Run to benefit Give a Child Christmas
October 17: North Creek Train Ride (more info to come)

Introduction to TDOTFD

I will start off with a proper intro.  My name is Ginger and the intentions of this blog is to share updates and my experience as a Red Knight from NY Chapter 12.  The reason I chose to call my blog From the Desk of the First Daughter because my Dad is our chapter president and my mom is the secretary making me the "first daughter".  Our chapter has a website, but it's difficult to keep updated and I wanted to create something more relaxed and fun.  I have blogged for many years with my crafting, but life kinda got in the way of that although I would love to get back to it motorcycle life takes priority most of the time.  So I figured why not document the clubs adventures and some of my own.
