September 4-7 West Virginia State Picnic

Our little brothers from the south invited us down to their state picnic so of course we had been planning on going for months.  Dan, Meranda, Judith and Todd met us at our house to head out Thursday.  We did about half the trip Thursday and stop at a state camp ground to get our rest and started bright and early Friday morning on the trek to meet up with the rest of the crew before we reached out destination.

At one of our stops I decided to try out the front seat of our bike for a minute.  I have been thinking about getting a bike of my own for a bit, but that's another story for another day.

On our way to the hotel in Ohio we had to travel through West Virginia and we were able to take in some of the landscape.  As we were driving through I enjoyed it all even the rather large Coal factories.  The architecture was absolutely beautiful.

We had some time Friday evening to grab a bite with the host chapter at a local restaurant.  The food and company was on point! We wandered back to the hotel and enjoy some more time together till the wee hours of the morning.  The next day was picnic day we made the journey to our host's firehouse for food, fun and fantastic company.

Of course there were some formalities. International President Gadway gifted President of WV8 Trey a banner from International marking their first visit from International.

The WV crew shut down the road, so a few participated in the biker games even though it was deathly hot.  They did the slow race, jousting, and ring around the rosie.

President Gadway and the First Lady wanted to play but forgot their bike at home, so they played piggy back.  They did a great job even without the bike.

Trey and Casey decided they wanted to play but had no lady friends to put on the back of their bikes, so they decided to be a team.  There is video in the Red Knight's FB group (this is a Red Knights only group) to enjoy.

After the food was eaten, the games played and the laughs had we went for a ride.  The Gadiallic (International President's car) went back to the hotel.

We had to wait for the WV crew to pick up the fire house and put the trucks away.  Then we were on our way.

We wandered back the hotel to cool down and make some more memories.  We defiantly made some memories.  I can't wait till next year.
